Mureș County

The archaeological researches revealed material elements proving the existence of a population on the current territory of Mureş County from the Neolithic (5500-2200 BC).Mureş County is a documentary certified in 1409, when King Sigismund of Luxembourg rewarded the bravery of the inhabitants of Caşin and neighboring villages, and untied this region from Ciuc County, giving it its own administration. In 1462 Matthew Corvinus strengthens Sigismund’s decision by Medias diploma, confirming the right of the inhabitants to choose judges and rulers in war.
